Abstract
Study question: What is the effectiveness of follitropin delta in real-world assisted reproduction in Latin America? Summary answer: Follitropin delta allows achieving preliminary results similar to those obtained in clinical trials. What is already known: Follitropin delta is an effective treatment compared to other gonadotropins in randomized controlled studies. Study design: Retrospective, observational, multicenter. Materials and methods: Demographic, complementary methods and outcome data were collected from women who received follitropin delta as monotherapy or in association with highly purified menotropin in 16 assisted reproduction centers in Argentina and Colombia. Main results: 58 women participated (mean age: 33.4 years, with heterogeneous distribution of associated risk factors for infertility). Treatment was associated with the recovery of an average 10.4 ± 7.8 oocytes per woman, with a high proportion of MII oocytes. Differences in response were identified as a function of age and baseline antimüllerian hormone level. Limitations: Retrospective design, sample size. Wider implications of the findings: The use of follitropin delta is effective and could be personalized according to the characteristics of each woman.
